D J Hensher Building & Carpentry Services helped us to transform our old grain store into a place where children can play and parents and carers can enjoy refreshments in beautiful surroundings. Natural materials were used to create a sense of the outside, nature, coming in out of the cold.
Mezzanine party rooms were built to appear as tree houses perched above the play area. The chestnut posts were chosen to match the materials used for our fencing outside on the farm. They cladded the inside of the party rooms and framed the wide staircase leading down to the play area using the Chestnut Materials to connect all areas together. The Tables and benches hand crafted using Chestnut Logs to continue the woodland feel.
The be-spoke café area was installed to a high standard with in put from the staff. The outside the barns were cladded with soft wood to allow them to blend into their surroundings. The Grand new entrance to the farm and farm shop was built Bringing the same softwood cladding into the building with great attention to detail. As well as creating false Upper Barn doors to keep that working farm presence.
Dan and his team were amazing to work with, quick to find solutions to any problems encountered. For example the projector for the toddler area was cleverly hidden away within a bespoke wooden birdhouse. His work ethic and commitment to our deadline for opening often meant early starts and late finishes to keep the project moving forward.
